Parity Education

The Tennessee Parity Project raises awareness about state and federal laws requiring health plans to cover mental health and substance use disorder as they would for physical health, with no extra co-pays, medical necessity requirements or other barriers.

 

We seek to educate consumers so they know their rights and can hold health plans accountable for the care they are required to provide. We also seek to stop discriminatory practices against those seeking mental health and addiction treatment services.

We offer trainings for consumers, health plans, billing companies,  behavioral health providers, legislators, employers and others. We offer opportunities for you to learn more and educate others:
